Methi Malai Matar
Ingredients
Methi - 1 handful
oil - 2 tbsp
Tomato sauce- 1 can [8 oz]
Peas[matar] -1 cup
Chilli powder -3/4 tsp
Garam masala powder-1/2 tsp
Heavy whipping cream -3/4 quart
Salt
Cashews - 1 handful
onion -1/2
First soak the cashews for 1-2 hours and grind to a smooth paste and keep aside.
Microwave the methi with enough water in it for 2 minutes and keep it aside
Drain the water by squeezing it and keep it ready[this helps to take off the bitterness]
Microwave the peas too if it is frozen
Boil the onions,drain it and grind it into paste
Now take a pan and heat it.
Add oil to it,then add the onion paste and after few minutes then add tomato sauce.
Cover and cook till it changes its color[stir in often.take care not to burn it]
Then add the chillipowder,garam masala powder,salt and cook for 2 minutes
Now add the cashew paste and cook for few minutes.
Then add the peas.
Next add the cream and allow it to boil
Then add the methi and when it boils switch it off
Now delicious Methi Malai Matar is ready
You can do it without methi too... it becomes shahi paneer when used with paneer
