Alagar Koil Dosa
This Dosa is made of Rice and Black urad dhal. This dosa is served as prasad in the temple "Alagar Koil" in Madurai and that is why the name is Alagar koil dosa.
When i made it the first time it came out tasty and spicy...mmmm Delicious...as it is i was happy i found out way to use the Black urad without the need of the skin to be removed..
Let's get to the recipe
Ingredients
Rice {raw/par boiled} - 2 cups
Black Urad - 1 cup
Black pepper -2 tsps[crushed coarsely]
Dry ginger powder - 1/2 tsp
Cumin -1 tsp
curry leaves - few
Salt
Oil
Soak the rice and urad seperately overnight with water. Then next grind them in a consistency neither smooth nor coarse. While grinding add pepper, ginger powder, cumin , salt to it and grind.
Allow this dough to ferment overnight.
Next day you can make dosa.
Heat a tava. Make dosa as regular dosa.
Serve it with chutney.
