Rasam
This rasam is the regular rasam and very simple which we get in most of the hotels/restaurants...We can make it with /without tomato. If you are not using tomato increase the tamarind little.
Tamarind - little gooseberry size soaked in water
salt
Tomato - 1 medium size
Rasam Powder - 1 -3/4 tsp
garlic - 1 small crushed
curry leaves
Mustard - 1/2 tsp
oil - 1 tsp
Coriander - for garnish
Turmeric powder- 1/4 tsp
Redchilli - 1
First in a bowl mash and strain the tamarind water [2 cups..]. Add the turmeric, rasam powder, chopped curry leaves( do it with hand), tomato mashed, salt.
Mix and taste adjust accordingly.
Now heat a pan and add oil to it and heat. When hot add the mustard , garlic, red chilli. When it starts to pop add the tamarind water mix and close and allow it to boil.
When it starts to boil switch off immediately and add the garnish of coriander ..
Rasam taste and smell will fill the air in the kitchen and it will increase your hunger..
