Onion uthappam is made with idli dough or your can make a dough with adding 1/4 cup of thuvar dhal and grinding it as like idli dough and fermenting ( idli rice - 4 cup, urad - 1 cup , thuvar - 1/4 cup , Fenugreek - 1tbsp , soak everything for 4- 6 hours and grind and add salt, ferment it overnight and make the uthappam )
For Onion Uthappam
onions - 1
green chilli - optional
Curry leaves few
Coriander - chopped
I prefer to saute the onions to remove the raw smell. We can do it with sauting the onion too
Now make the uthappam on a griddle . Pour the dough and spread the onions and cook both sides and serve hot with chutney and sambhar.
