Today's recipe is also From Garden to Table😉😉😉 Today's Special is Karuvepillai Kuzhambu which is made with Curry Leaves from our Garden. It is very easy to make and healthy one too. It is very tasty . We won't need lot of curry leaves ,only like 6-7 stems of curry leaves which comes to half cup of leaves. Lets start .
Onion - 1/2 cup chopped
Tomato - 1 chopped
Garlic - 6-7(peeled and split lengthwise)
Ginger paste - 1/2 tsp
Sambhar Powder- 1/2 tsp
Coriander - 1-2 tsp
Turmeric - 1/2 tsp
Tamarind - small gooseberry size ( soak and take the water)
water - 2 cups
Rice flour - 1 tsp ( for thickening)
Gingelly oil - 2tsp (optional)
Grind
Curry leaves - leaves from 6-7 ( comes around to 1/4 to 1/2 cup)
Coriander leaves - 3 tbsps (optional)
Roasted Peanuts - 1-2 tsp
tomato - 1 small one (1/4 cup chopped)
Seasoning
Oil- 2 tsp
Mustard -1/2 tsp
Channa dhal - 1 tsp
Fenugreek- 1/4 tsp
Asafoetida- 1 pinch
First grind the ingredients and keep it ready
Heat a Pan and keep the flame in medium.
Add oil and when it is hot add the seasoning ingredients mustard, channa dhal , fenugreek and asafoetida.
Then add the onion and saute
Add the garlic,ginger paste and tomato.Saute for few minutes and add salt, turmeric .
After sautéing for 2-3 minutes add the ground curry leaves/ Karuvepillai mixture.
Mix it and add the sambhar powder , coriander powder and allow it to cook . Keep on stirring in between .
Then add the tamarind water in it.
Add the 2 cups of water too and close the lid allowing it to cook more.
Add the rice flour mixed with little water and this is for thickening and completely optional.
After few minutes it will thicken and reduced to 2 cups from 3 cups. If you want more thick let it boil more.
We can smell the aroma of Karuvepillai/Curry leaves.Just before switching off the stove add the gingelly oil 2 tsp and turn it off.
Now yummy healthy Karuvepillai Kuzhambhu /Curry leaves Kuzhambhu is ready to eat with Hot Rice/Idli.
