Long Bean Masala/Payathangai Masala

  Long Beans is the Chinese long beans  or yard beans here , Karamani or Payathangai in Tamil. It is nice, long, tender beans. We can  do poriyal , kootu, masala. This beans is from our garden and organic. From to GARDEN TO TABLE 😄😄😄😄😄 Easy to make and delicious.

Long beans - 1 cup ( washed and chopped)

onion - 1/2 cup

tomato - 1 chopped

ginger paste - 1/2 tsp

garlic - 2 chopped

curry powder - 1 tsp

turmeric - 1/4 tsp

salt to taste

oil - 2 tsp

mustard - 1/4 tsp

water -1/4 cup 


Take a Pan . Heat it and add oil to it . Then when the oil is hot add the mustard.

Add the onion, garlic, ginger paste to it. Stir it .

Then add the tomato and keep on stirring to avoid burning. Add the turmeric, salt, curry powder and mix.

After that add the chopped long bean and mix it. Add water and close it to cook.

Here we can either cook it in the same pot covered for 10-15 minutes or transfer to a cooker and pressure cook on the stove top for 1 whistle.

I chose the pressure cooker on the stove top for 1 whistle .

After releasing the pressure, transfer to serving bowl and serve hot with roti/ Rice.
