Bitter Melon Fries/Chips in Instant Pot duo Crisp and Air Fryer

 Bitter Melon , the name says it all. It is bitter and it got its name from its bitterness. It has lot of health benefits . Unless you grew up using it as a regular diet , it takes a while to get used to its taste and bitterness. Bitter Melon, call it Bitter Gourd or Pakarkkai in Tamil or Karela in Hindi it helps in reducing Blood Sugar .

It is a good source of  nutrients like Vitamin C , Vitamin A , Folate , Fiber.

This recipe is very easy and healthy. You don't have to stand for long time and fry it in oil. It is easily fried in Air fryer and no oil, no mess 😉 

In this recipe I used my home made mix of Bajji Flour and Rice flour(store bought)

You can omit the above flour and just use Corn Flour instead , It will turn out crispy too.

Flour ,just helps in crispiness and stay crisp.

Add some chilli powder/curry powder  for enhancing the taste with salt.


Bittergourd - 4

salt

Besan/Bajji Flour - 2 tsp (Optional)

Rice Flour= 1 tsp ( you can substitute with corn flour - 1 tsp)

Instant Pot duo Crisp and Air Fryer

Slice the Bitter Melon into thin round slices.

We can remove the seeds inside it or we can just leave it( depends on you)

I cooked it for a minute in the microwave for a minute(fully optional)

Mix the flour and put it in the Instant Pot duo Crisp and Air Fryer basket

Set the Instant Pot duo Crisp and Air Fryer to Air Fry mode and timer to 15 minutes.

I set it for 30 minutes but removed it in 15 minutes .

So 15 minutes is sufficient .

In between open the fryer after 7 minutes and mix it so that it Air fries evenly.

After 15 minutes crispy Bitter Melon chips is ready.
