Lemon Ginger Rasam

 Today's recipe is Lemon Ginger Rasam. This is like a soup and its very good in Winter days and also when you have cold. Healthy one and easy to make. With the tanginess of lemon and the spice of pepper, chilli is delicious. Serve it just alone or with hot rice

Lemon - 1/2 (juice from that half)

Tomato - 1 chopped (medium size)

Dhal Water - 1 cup ( tale 2 tbsp of cooked and mashed lentil . Mix it with water)

Cumin powder - 1/2 tsp

Red/green chilli- 1-2 slit

Black Pepper powder - 1/4 tsp 

turmeric - 1/2 tsp

salt to taste - 3/4 tsp

ginger paste - 1/2 tsp

ginger shredded - 1/2 tsp

Seasoning

Mustard - 1/2 tsp

oil - 1 tsp

asafoetida - 1 pinch

curry leaves few

 

Take a Pan . Heat it. Add the oil to it

When hot , add the seasoning( mustard, asafoetida, curry leaves) and it will start to pop.

Add the chilli , ginger paste, ginger shredded, curry leaves while adding the seasoning.

Then add the tomatoes, saute it for a minute. Then add salt, turmeric, cumin, pepper and mix it.

After a minute add the water little first and then let it boil. Now add the remaining dhal water. Add extra 1 cup of water and close it with lid allowing it boil .

After few minutes it will start to boil

In the mean time take the juice from the lemon and keep it ready.

After it boils switch off the stove. Let it cool down little bit .

Then add the lemon juice. Garnish with coriander.

Now delicious Lemon Ginger Rasam is ready. 😋😋😋 Enjoy the Rasam just like that or with hot rice.
