Hotel Chutney {Simple Chutney }

 This is a very simple chutney .I have tasted this type of chutney in Hotels/Restaurants  in my school days. Call it Hotel Chutney or Simple Chutney, very easy to make

Coconut- 1 cup

peanut - 2 tbsp

Roasted Bengal gram - 2 tbsps

ginger - 1/2 inch

tamarind - 1 small gooseberry size / little

salt

green chilli -1 ( I used the frozen homegrown chilli)

red chilli-1

Coriander- few ( about  a handful and chop it)

oil- 1tsp

mustard-1/2 tsp

urad- 1/2 tsp

curry leaves few

red chilli - 1/2 optional

Heat a Pan. Add a tsp oil . When it is hot , add the Peanut, Roasted Bengal Gram dhal( PottuKadalai) and sauté for 1-2 minutes. Remove from heat and let it cool little bit

Take the Mixie Jar 

Add the peanut, roasted gram, ginger, tamarind , salt, green chilli, redchilli, chopped coriander, and the coconut and grind it nicely

Pour it in the serving bowl and if needed add some water.

Now for seasoning heat a Pan

Add  1-2 tsp oil and when it is hot add the mustard , urad and let it pop . Then add the curry leaves and red chilli . Take it off the stove and add the seasoning to the chutney

Serve it as a side dish for Dosa/ Idli
