Tomato Roti/ Thakkali Chappati

This recipe is like a Roti with tomato flavor & Indian masala. After making it just serve it with ghee on top/butter on top/yogurt for the kids. They will love it. So simple and easy to make and it is just like the Roti/Chappati


Wheat Flour - 2 cups

Water - 1 and 1/2 cups

Tomatoes - 1/2 cup crushed ( approximately around 2-3 tomatoes)

turmeric- 1/4 tsp

Coriander powder- 1/2 tsp

Curry masala powder - 1/2 tsp { can be substituted with 1/2 tsp chilli powder}

Ginger paste - 1/2tsp

Salt- 1tsp

Oil for making the Roti

In a mixing bowl take the wheat flour, tomatoes, salt, turmeric, Coriander powder, ginger paste, curry masala powder, and water, and mix. Knead it into a dough.

Let it rest for 30-45 minutes.

After 30 minutes, make the roti

 Take the dough and make it into small balls.

Take one and roll it as a plain round. 

Heat a Tava and keep the flame in the medium. When the pan is hot, place it on the Tava and cook it with slight golden brown bubbles.

Cook it on both sides. 

Yummy delicious Tomato Roti/Thakkali Chappati is ready.
