Channa Dhal Sundal

 Today's dish is a type of sundal which is an


easy one and prepared during Navarathri too as a Prasadham.Very few ingredients are needed. Quick to make.

Ingredients

Channa dhal - 1 cup

Mustard- 1/2 tsp

Urad dhal - 1 tsp

Red chilli - 1

Curry leaves few

Coconut - 1/4 cup (shredded)

Salt to taste

oil- 2 tsp

 Either we can soak the Channa Dhal(Bengal gram dhal) for an hour and cook it or just cook it with enough water in it.

After it is cooked, drain the water and take the cooked Channa dhal

Heat a saute pan. Keep the flame in medium and add oil- 2tsp to it

Then when it is hot, add the mustard, and let it pop. Then add the urad dhal and when it starts to turn golden brown add the red chilli, and curry leaves. Stir it.

Then add the cooked channa dhal and stir it. Add salt to taste. Mix it for a minute and then add the coconut.

Mix it and switch off the flames. We only need to cook after adding the coconut if it is frozen. If it is frozen stir it until it gets warm and then remove from flames.
