Thakkali Kuzhambu / Tomato Kuzhambu

             Thakkali Kuzhambu ....You can guess easily by its name . It is a tomato gravy , tangy, tasty side dish. It can be used with rice or idli, dosa etc. Very easy to make and a quick one too.
Tasted very yummy. Adding coconut milk to this recipe makes it more tasty. Nowadays it has become a craze of adding coconut in everything. Everywhere there is coconut milk, butter, water, oil and many more. i had this coconut milk which was leftover after i used for Aappam. So i thought to use it.


Let's start
Tomatoes  - 4 chopped finely
onion         - 1/2 chopped(medium size)
Curry leaves - few
Garlic         - 5 pieces
coriander
Mustard     - 1/2 tsp
Fennel seeds -1/2 tsp
coconut milk - 1/4 cup
salt
Sambhar powder- 1tsp
turmeric powder -1/4 tsp

Now heat a pan. Add some oil to it. Then when hot add the seasoning of mustard, fennel seeds.
After it starts popping add the onions, garlic and saute for 2 minutes by adding turmeric and salt.
Then add tomatoes, curryleaves and saute till the tomatoes get cooked. Add sambhar powder to it.
Add water to it and then add the coconut milk. And put this in a cooker and cook for 2 whistles.
If not let it boil for few minutes in the pan. That is it . Ready
Garnish with coriander and serve with hot rice/ Roti/idli ,dosa
So tasty you will want more. I really enjoyed it.
