Ingredients

  • Green Vatana (Dried Green Peas) – 1 cup (soaked overnight and cooked until tender, not mushy)

  • Olive oil – 1 tbsp

  • Garlic powder – 1 tsp

  • Cumin powder – 1 tsp

  • Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp

  • Salt – ½ tsp (adjust to taste)

  • Black pepper – ¼ tsp

  • Cajun seasoning – optional, for a spicy kick

Instructions

1. Soak and Cook:
Soak the dried green peas overnight. Next day, cook for about 20–25 minutes until just tender. Drain, cool, and pat dry.

2. Season:
In a bowl, combine cooked peas with olive oil, garlic powder, cumin, turmeric, salt, pepper, and Cajun seasoning (if using). Toss to coat evenly.

3. Air Fry:
Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
Spread the peas in a single layer and air fry for 18–20 minutes, shaking halfway through, until crisp and golden.
