Creamy Homemade Guacamole 🥑
Today I’m making a simple and delicious Guacamole with ripe avocado! I had an avocado at home and thought of turning it into a quick side dish for dosa — and it turned out so flavorful and refreshing. This creamy dip is healthy, filling, and a favorite with kids too. I also used my mortar and pestle for this recipe, and I absolutely loved the rustic texture and fresh taste it gives!
Perfect as a dip, spread, or side dish, this easy guacamole pairs wonderfully with dosa, bread, chips, or crackers.
Ingredients
- Avocado -1
- Onion – finely chopped, as needed
- Tomato – finely chopped
- Lemon – 1/2
- Salt – to taste
- Coriander leaves – chopped (optional)
- Green chilli – finely chopped (optional)
- Mild taco sauce – as needed (optional, but I like adding it for extra flavor)
Method
- Cut the avocado, remove the seed, and scoop the flesh into a mortar.
- Mash it gently using a pestle until it reaches your desired consistency — smooth or slightly chunky.
- Add the chopped onion, tomato, salt, taco sauce, coriander leaves, and green chilli.
- Mix everything well.
- Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the mixture and give it a final mix.
Serve fresh with dosa, bread, tortilla chips, crackers, or even as a sandwich spread.
Tips
- Use ripe avocados for the best creamy texture.
-
Add more lemon juice to keep the guacamole fresh and green longer.
